Abstract:
Among the teaching tools that are being incorporated in recent years as a result of the implementation of the Bologna process, we highlight the portfolio. With its use, which by no means is new, we can shift the focus of teaching from the teacher to student. Additionally, in this new approach, the assessment does not focus exclusively on knowledge but also in assessing the skills required by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
In the classical teaching, the evaluation is done by means of punctual controls with which the contents are valued. However, with the use of the portfolio is possible to assess the acquisition of skills by students as well as their evolution throughout the course. Thus, it is possible for the teacher to know the whole learning process, the achievements, and the failures and allows to the pupil demonstrate his capacity throughout the course. The contents of the portfolio can be varied and should be designed to assess not only the final product but the process carried out to obtain them, plus the teacher can enable the student be part of the contents and evaluation, so that the results will improve teaching.
In this paper, after defining the basic concepts of portfolio will focus on showing the different tasks and applications that can be included in the portfolio for use it as a tool of evaluation effectively implement continuous assessment. Keywords:
