Abstract:
The main objective of this work is the design of a laboratory practice focused on the acquisition of some transversal competences by different groups of students of the degrees of chemistry and industrial chemical engineering of the Extremadura University (UEx), according to the verification memory.

For this purpose the designed experience is carried out in four different sessions:
1) the group leaders perform the practice with the teacher;
2) the practice is carried out by all students who are supervised by the leaders;
3) the students will deliver a report on the practice to be evaluated by leaders and teachers;
4) a video record of the practice is realized by each group and exposed in a final debate.

The results of the experience, obtained from the surveys completed by the students and teachers, show that the students improved in the proposed competences, especially those focused on future incorporation into the world of work, with a higher percentage of acquisition than when the practice is carried out according to a more traditional model. In general, qualitatively, the students consider that the activities of preparation of the video report and the public exhibition of the practice should be carried out, since it brings them closer to the reality that they will find in their future work. The designed practice is a rewarding experience because the students do not merely execute a routine procedure already acquired with traditional practices, but the tutelage by their leaders and the exposure and defence of the experience makes them more interested in the practice
