Abstract:
ACT Vision and Objectives
The objective of the ACT project is to establish an on-line market place for agricultural courses. The motivation behind ACT is to respond to the demand for lifelong-learning in the agricultural sector that is continuingly facing environmental, economic, social and territorial challenges, as well as imminent EU directive reforms.

ACT’s mission is to support and improve farming business by developing tools for defining competences on agricultural innovations and management, then offer course providers opportunity to present relevant courses and facilitate the farming community locating training opportunities. In this way the farming business is supported to face current and future challenges.

Seven partners from four countries from various backgrounds in the agriculture sector are joining forces. In this consortium, ACT develops a framework, the “Pathways for Agricultural Competence and skills based Training (PACT)” and related training and tools for its implementation and use.

The ACT alliance, among other dissemination activities, issues an annual ACT Award to collect and highlight best practices for the use and harmonization of competence descriptions in lifelong learning, labour services and policies in the agricultural sector.
