Abstract:
Two of the most admirable traits of students are their curiosity and imagination. They are curious by nature, and they get excited whenever they find something new. They like to ask many and different questions and to use their imagination and available resources to find answers to our questions. Now, teachers must transformation the classroom and answer current and future challenges using these two great assets and applying digital technologies.
Today, there are many digital technologies and resources for teaching students about the specific information and skills they need in Lockdown. Teachers, not only in Bulgaria, should try to include these new and innovative technologies in their teaching, which requires students to be inventive and creative while learning and performing tasks in an online environment. Teaching and learning in a virtual classroom should be much more than a simple process of knowledge transfer. Training during COVID-19 should guide students in the right direction and show them how to use all their knowledge, combined with their imagination, to achieve truly extraordinary things.
If teaching methods are built mainly on textbooks and standardized tests, it will be difficult to teach students to be curious and use their imagination. Reading hundreds of pages and filling out standardized tests will not jog anyone’s fantasy and creativity. Instead, teachers should try to incorporate new and innovative technologies in their instruction, that demand learners to be inventive and creative while learning and responding to assignments. One such tool that can help students and teachers to get creative is Augmented Reality, or shortly, AR.
The choice of innovation for learning depends on the individual's access to different technologies and the infrastructural environment of the people. In a rapidly changing society, where there is a lot of available information and knowledge, it is necessary to receive and apply information at the right time and in the right place to achieve learning efficiency.
Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that drastically changes the location and timing of training and learning. With the coronavirus outbreak or COVID-19, distance learning has become the main teaching method. This article describes augmented reality (AR), how it can be applied to student learning during COVID-19 and the potential impact on the future of Bulgarian education. Keywords:
