A BULGARIAN PLATFORM FOR A BLENDED LEARNING FROM A TEACHER'S VIEW - CHALLENGE OR POSSIBILITY

The article presents the platform www.smartclassroom.bg as an opportunity to apply blended learning at school in the context of European and national policy the effective use of information and communication technologies in education and the necessary digital competence for teachers. It focuses on the benefits and opportunities of Smartclassroom.bg to organise and improve the quality of the educational process.

One of the biggest advantages of Smartclassroom.bg is that it is not only in Bulgarian, but it was created with the participation of the Bulgarian teachers as well. The platform is very intuitive and does not require special skills to work in a virtual environment. All Bulgarian schools and Kindergardens have access to it and its use is free of charge and is not tied to special technical equipment. It can be used on any modern electronic devices with internet access - desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

The aim of its creators is to constantly expand it with new functionalities that meet the needs of teachers and students. Among the most recent additions in 2017 are the online professional portfolio of the teacher showing the teacher's professional path and pedagogical achievement (fully compliant with the requirements set out in Ordinance No 12 of 01.09.2016 on the status and professional development of teachers, directors and other pedagogical specialists), a student's portfolio that serves both self-assessment and an important source of information for teachers from the next stage of school education. One of the most exciting new platforms is augmented reality / AR in various subjects.
