Abstract:
The field of entrepreneurship has experienced a fantastic growth in recent years. Today we are talking about technological, political, social entrepreneurship, and more. A target category for which universities must offer courses and projects in the field of entrepreneurship is represented by students from disadvantaged backgrounds. This is exactly what POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest did through a project which is in the implementation phase. This paper aims to present some aspects about entrepreneurship (including the entrepreneurship for students) and to highlight in a case study such a project through which hundreds of students from disadvantaged backgrounds are prepared to become entrepreneurs. A vocational guidance and counselling program, the development of 3 innovative educational offers related to the labour market and the improvement of professional skills for 75 teachers are also among the project’s activities. The paper highlights at the end, based on the authors experience, some recommendations and lessons learned from this project. Keywords:
