Abstract:
This paper describes a multimedia application which refers to the water. Water is the most important factor for growth and maintenance of life. It is the most valuable element in our planet and a fundamental asset for human activities. It also classified in the category of social goods. The complexity of this subject as well as its implications on environmental, economic, sustainable and social development issues requires an interdisciplinary approach, while using all modern teaching and pedagogical methods. The aim is to highlight the particular teaching subject, while covering and connecting all subject fields and their implications.

For the better and more complete presentation of the educational software, it has been constructed according to the learning mechanisms as well as the existing pedagogical models. It also includes all the necessary information (articles from newspapers, statistical surveys, data tables and photographic material to render the lecture more appealing and also to make them acquire a comprehensive picture of the issue to be negotiated) and the educational videos which describe the whole process for the analysis method of all parameters. Knowledge is provided in an interdisciplinary way, because environmental problems are mainly social issues in which values and lifestyles play an important role.

The individual sections are the following: ph, hardness, conductivity, alkalinity, sodium, calcium, nitrates, nitrites, ammonia and chlorides. At the end of the software there are questions, on the basis of which the control of learning outcome can be carried out. The multimedia material was applied to students of the Chemistry Department at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the results from the evaluation of data seem to be highly encouraging regarding the contribution of the dynamic visualizations in the performance and interpretation of the experimental procedures.
