Abstract:
The development and assessment of not only the knowledge but also the skills and competences in higher education students has become very important nowadays. One powerful way to develop generic competences in students is proposing them activities that lead to its improvement. Professors should design activities oriented to both the development of generic competences and the understanding and practice of specific knowledge within the subject that they are teaching.
In this paper we will propose a template easy for the teachers to be used. This template will help them in designing activities to develop competences. Moreover, this will help them to think about the way of developing each activity, the resources that they will need for it, and, one of the most important component in higher education, the way of assessing these skills through the activities.
Student’s and teacher’s time is a limited resource, so it must also be taken into account: using this tool, there will be easy to measure the effort devoted to each activity in order to optimize courses schedule.
