Abstract:
Education play an important role in the development of society in very country. Support for educational processes has been growing because of the development of information and communication technologies in the last few decades. One of the technologies that is widely used by schools and educational institutions is the cloud and related services. However, the highest level of use of these technologies does not result in the development or effort to increase the attractiveness of education, but especially in the situation in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. The cloud and services themselves have involuntarily gained the opportunity for deeper integration into the way of education. It is therefore a question of the extent to which the individual elements will be used even after the end of the pandemic.The research described in this article examined the relationship between the cloud and its services used by students at the University of Žilina in 2016 and 2021. The original goal of this research was to compare the state of use of cloud storage in education and the security of their use among students at the University of Žilina. Thus, the result of the comparison is not to determine the development in the use of the cloud and its services over time, but the impact of the pandemic itself. The compared results of the two surveys showed that the pandemic probably had a significant effect on increasing the use of cloud storage and services.
