Abstract:
The paper dwells upon the results of the research aimed at identifying self-efficacy rates in university students amid the lockdown due to the COVID 19 pandemic when computer-mediated learning turned to be the leading component of the education process.

The objective of the research is to identify self-efficacy components and therefore pin down the effects of the lockdown on the progress in studies and successful communication skills.

The methods applied are a questionnaire, theoretical modelling, sampling, content analysis, and categorisation.

The sample included international affairs university students under lockdown in Spring 2020. The online questionnaire to identify the level of self-efficacy and communication skills was virtually disseminated to the students to consequently quantify their self-efficacy rates and draw conclusions on the effect of the lockdown on their generic competences and communication skills.

The findings of this research have shown that self-efficacy levels were normal that could not disturb successful communication and effective education.
The paper summarizes the results of the study that can be widely applicable in psychological studies, self-directed learning, online-education.
