Abstract:
The article focuses on the problem of the research cognitive component in the structure of the professional translation activity. Functions and classification of cognitive abilities and skills are given. The structure of the professional translation activity is investigated. The cognitive skills are presented as a metasystem which comprises the organizational and communication, the information and analytical, and the research kinds of activity. The system of cognitive skills which form the basis of all the components of translation activity is described with a special emphasis on the substantial aspect which is given through the nomenclature of the cultural and professional competences, presented in the Federal state educational standard of the high professional education (qualification degree) "specialist/expert". The system of skills is hierarchical. It is designed to form skills successively.
