Abstract:
Securing a school through policy implementation stands as a paramount, vital, and intricate challenge within the context of global education policies. In each societal evolution phase, education goals and the orientations of educational sciences undergo redefinition. Legislative acts are enacted to establish a secure school policy in Georgia, prompting an examination of violence within public education institutions. This article aims to delineate strategies for preventing violence while implementing a comprehensive safe school policy. Understanding the factors that increase the risk of danger within the school environment is crucial for ensuring school safety. The article addresses several key questions: What is the current situation regarding school safety in Georgia? Are Georgian schools presently secure, and what should take precedence in educational institutions? When considering security measures, is a control-oriented or care-oriented approach more effective? How has the security landscape changed since the introduction of a police officer? In the pursuit of eliminating violence and promoting harmonious coexistence (convivencia), what support should school staff and students receive from the administration to enhance motivation? Is the school, including its various aspects, organized to reduce violence and nurture a convivial environment? In the realm of violence prevention and conflict resolution, what strategy would teachers recommend? Utilizing both quantitative and qualitative research methods, including observations and focus groups with various stakeholders, the study delves into the practical experience of safe school practices. The investigation uncovers that school safety is influenced by various factors, including peers, family, subjects, environment, school structure, and teachers. These factors, both external and influenced by the school's organizational or educational structure, have the potential to impact school safety significantly. The article will present comprehensive research findings and outline a model of a safe school. This model integrates insights from esteemed psychologists and researchers, drawing upon answers to common inquiries raised by the public, contributing to the enhancement of safe school policies globally. Keywords:
