Abstract:
Practice is an essential component of higher education helping students to become professionals and allowing them to elaborate the theoretical knowledge within appropriate practical setting. Practice enables the studenst to test their knowledge in real working environment by refining and developing the acquired competencies. Therefore, during the course of the future teacher education reform, it has become important to understand properly the component of pedagogical practice within the curricula of higher education institutions.

The purpose of pedagogical practice is to actualize the theoretical knowledge gained at the lectures and seminars, to increase awareness of the pedagogical process, to promote new understanding of the learning process introducing new approaches in teaching and learning, understanding the principles of inclusive education. Students will be able to plan the learning process according to the age and individual characteristics of the students; identify students' needs, develop an individualized curriculum for students with special needs.

Students at the Batumi State University Teacher Training Program carry out various important activities. They participate in the Faculty Practice Preparatory Conference, get acquainted with the functions of the teacher and the head of the classroom. They attend lessons, learn the individual characteristics of each student in the class, observe them directly, get familiar with school documentation, hold conversations with students and their parents; learn teaching techniques and methodology, conduct lessons, among others.

The target group of the study were the teachers and pupils of public and private schools. The research methods: an interview, advanced experience study, observation, survey.

During the research we were interested in the following issues: What components do teachers include when planning a lesson? How often do teachers conduct educational activities? How many parents are involved in extracurricular activities? What are the benefits of each student involved in the event? What skills did they develop?

Our research has revealed that pedagogical practice has enabled new teachers to develop the theoretical knowledge gained during lectures and seminars. They deeply understood pedagogical process, managed to implement new approaches in teaching and learning directly in practice, gained practical experience and developed personal and creative-individual skills. Students' cooperation in parenting activities has increased.

In conclusion we would like to say that one of the essential requirements for training new, highly qualified school teachers is the proper planning of the relevant pedagogical practice and it’s implementation according to modern requirements.
