Abstract:
POOL2 Business is a Leonardo da Vinci pilot training project in the Lifelong Learning Programme which delves into the need for more specific skills related to international project management. There are six European higher education institutions currently participating in the development of a proposal for such a programme. To begin with, a general survey was carried out in the participating countries to do research on the specific needs of companies working on international projects with a special focus on project-performance-management, online collaboration, risk management, intercultural communication and soft-skills. In these last two areas, the uses of English as the lingua franca in international projects was of special interest as this would inevitably affect the focus on the necessary linguistic skills needed for international teamwork and intercultural communication. Once the results had been collected, the next step was to develop a didactical approach for the programme and an evaluation framework which would be adapted to the specific challenges of an international online training.
