Abstract:
Nowadays, when it is difficult to attract students' attention in the education process, it is necessary to look for solutions to reverse this situation. Games Learning is preferred to a greater extent especially in foreign colleges and universities as it provides several advantages over traditional education. By engaging students directly in activities related to "playing" the game, it is possible to get their attention, involve them in problem solving, searching for alternatives - students gain practical experience, in a playful or entertaining way they learn the required managerial knowledge and skills in the field of production systems, logistics and quality. The scope for the application of Games Learning is huge in the field of industrial engineering. The aim of the article is to highlight the implementation of activities supporting the connection of higher education with the requirements of industrial practice in accordance with the principles of Industry 4.0, through the creation and implementation of a self-made training game – an innovative tool for the educational process and thus the improvement of the quality of studies in the field of industrial engineering and management. The present training game was designed to ensure automated data collection into a cloud database - the captured times can be subsequently evaluated quantitatively after their modification, and later, with a larger volume of accumulated data, also statistically. They will be used for the creation of time analyses of the production process, or for the application of lean principles on the analysed processes. In this way, it will contribute to increasing the quality of education and practical readiness of students to the level of foreign colleges and universities.
