Abstract:
Practical training in the field of emergency services at universities is currently only in the form of professional practice. It turns out that improving the employability of graduate places higher demands on the convergence of theory and practice. Better preparedness and practical experience gained during their studies are already an integral part of education professionals in emergency services. Based on this requirement and the needs of employers, four basic training modules with practical training were create at Faculty of Security Engineering, University of Žilina, focused on the needs of the emergency services manager. The article describes the starting points, creation and expected benefits of the implementation of practical education modules into direct teaching at the university with a focus on firefighters and their priority activities. It is mainly the training of experts in the field of fire prevention, suppression as well as general education in emergency services. The proposed modules profile the graduate directly into the real area of future employment and increase his chances of successful application in practice.
