Abstract:

The aim of the paper is to present the possibilities of effective professional education and readiness of voluntary fire brigades of municipalities in the Žilina region to carry out emergency response activities. The paper will focus on the presentation of intervention activities, it analyse and the design of methods of training volunteer firefighters for fast, effective and professional management of the intervention. The paper focuses on theoretical education using available means and materials such as methodological procedures of firefighters, analysis of interventions and training in the basic principles of emergency management. To support the theoretical training, it is necessary to include the practical education of these components of the rescue system. The design of this preparation will be based on methods of practical instruction using professional components. The article interprets the applied methods of education in the region of Žilina, in Slovakia, which are used by volunteer firefighters and suggests the use of other methods of training using modern technologies.
