Abstract:
Healthcare and social services are in continuous change, driven by demographic changes with an increasing number of older people in society, and where financial resources are limited (Kroezen, et al., 2018). These challenges have been identified at both international and national level, but the major change work needs to take place both locally and regionally. A concentration on digital transformation will be implemented through the program The Health Information Environment of the Future (HIEF), to meet the needs of businesses in healthcare in one region in Sweden with 1,75 billion inhabitants. The society therefore need to increase their competence and ability in leading and organizing for digital transformation (Svensson, et al., 2022; Vallo Hult, et al., 2020). Residents and employees in healthcare-related organizations and decision-makers expect the HIEF to be developed and implemented so that it provides the expected effects for sustainable growth and gender equality. HIEF should meet current and future needs and demands for sustainable and equal healthcare with a high quality.

The implementation of HIEF will contribute to the society being at the forefront of using the possibilities of digitalization and e-health, which is also in line with the Swedish government's vision for e-health 2025. The aim of the paper is to contribute with knowledge on management and organization of business processes and working methods in the implementation of a digitalized health program that is transforming the provision of healthcare to the residents. The results show that work-integrated learning is vital for the success of an implementation of a digitalized health program. That is to give opportunities for participation in the implementation process for all the involved stakeholders. The method of dialogue meetings has especially proven to be successful, so the different stakeholders can feel included.
