Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the GAWI MANUNTUNG learning model based on multiple intelligences in terms of ability statistical literacy and scientific skills of elementary school students. This research is a quasi-experimental research with pretest and posttest design. The population in this study were grade 5 elementary school students in Banjarmasin City. The sample in this study was 100 5th grade students spread over 5 schools as an experimental class who participated in learning with the GAWI MANUNTUNG learning model based on multiple intelligences and 100 students spread over 5 schools in Banjarmasin City as a control class who followed learning with a scientific approach. Data collection was carried out from February to July 2022. Data collection was carried out through tests and questionnaires. The test to find out the average difference uses the two group Manova test statistic with the Hotteling's Trace test. The test to determine the average achievement that is greater than the two classes uses the independent sample t-test. The posttest average test of statistical literacy skills and the final scientific skills questionnaire score used the one sample t-test. The results showed that, based on hypothesis testing using a significance level of 6%, it can be concluded that learning with the GAWI MANUNTUNG model based on multiple intelligences is effective in terms of the statistical literacy and scientific skills of elementary school students, which meets the following criteria: 1) the average value of statistical literacy skills and the scientific skills of students in the experimental class are greater than those in the control class; 2) the average posttest score for statistical literacy skills in the experimental class is at least 75; 3) the average score of the final scientific skills questionnaire in the experimental class reached the high category, which was more than 87.
