Abstract:
University students must be able to contribute to the economic, social and ecological well-being of the society at the graduation of their institutions. To achieve this, they need to acquire an entrepreneurial culture, which means that they are integrating their values, knowledge and attitudes that enable them to develop positive and creative energy to accomplish their self-realization at the same time that they impact on improving their community. In this context, the institutions of higher education are including in their curricula training towards entrepreneurship, enabling learners in identifying opportunities in the environment to generate and develop ideas for business as a source of wealth and satisfaction of social needs and even as a self-employment option. The objective of this work is to describe the actions performed and difficulties faced to implement the Institutional System of Entrepreneurs in a State Public University in Mexico, as well as the experience of inclusion of subjects in development of entrepreneurs in the plans and programmes of study in the Academic Division of Economic and Administrative Sciences Campus. It is a descriptive study through an analysis of contents of official documents, such as plans and programmes of study, institutional development plans, lists of subjects and Rectors’ activities informs. It was identified that the inclusion of subjects related to the enterprise corresponds to the moment that the educational model of flexible curriculum is implemented; however this action has ten previous years of effort to develop a program of entrepreneurial activities that culminated with an institutional entrepreneurs system still in consolidation. It is expected that the results of this research along with recommendations, will serve as a reference for other educational institutions.
