Abstract:

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to large-scale online education around the world. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, online learning has shifted from an emergency to a new normal situation. While some countries have begun teaching off-line, universities in most countries continue to teach on-line. At the same time online teaching is not simply a replication of the traditional classroom, but a rational use of educational technology based on an understanding of its nature and connotations. Finally, a new form of future education that can be comprehensively oriented to teachers and students and can face the emergencies and organically integrated with traditional classrooms will be formed.

The educational technology mentioned in this paper is ICT technology, and that, with its influence of remoteness, sharing and interactivity, has penetrated into the field of education and alternated the traditional way of teaching foreign languages. With the development of ICT technology, information-based teaching and learning modes accepting ICT as a medium are also widely used in university classrooms.In particular, ICT has brought new opportunities for the development of foreign language teaching in universities, when the traditional foreign language teaching mode cannot be carried out normally under the influence of the pandemic.

This paper will accomplish the following assignments.
- Analyze the nature of the online education model and summarize the advantages of foreign language online education.
- Take English language teaching as an example and integrate ICT online education technology with English online education.

The university foreign language teaching mode based on ICT technology mainly adopts the student-centered online classroom teaching form in the classroom, plus the rich digital image and video teaching resources in the online virtual platform and the interactive learning environment that transcends time and space constraints. Cultivate teachers' ability to use ICT technology for online teaching, and improve students' ability to use ICT technology to carry out independent learning, cooperative learning and communication. Promote the reform and development of foreign language teaching in colleges and universities, and improve the quality and efficiency of teaching.
