NEW ADDITIONAL TEACHING MATERIAL AS A RESOURCE FOR COMPREHENSION AND STUDY OF THE GENERAL PATHOLOGY AT THE DEGREE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY

Abstract:
This work is based upon an idea to request funding for an Innovation Teaching Project at the degree of Physical Therapy.

Aims:
- Our aims were to present a novel way to ease, permanent and from any computer, multimedia materials to support the study of the subject General Pathology or Pathophysiology, at the degree of Physiotherapy.
- For future perspectives the target were also to implant this way of teaching as an adjunct to traditional and that transcends to other degrees, for facilitating the study.
- Depending on the content, to develop new digital resources to complement the subject or matching resources with the created new technologies.
- At last, we decided to offer the material of the project in multiple languages and ways, in order to give more coverage in teaching.

Materials:
This idea has its roots in the subject of 'Information and Communication Technologies' (I.C.T.) taught at the degree of Physical Therapy and it has been asked for development, concept maps, video recordings, presentations, hypermedia environment, blogs, wikis, exelearning and other web 2. 0 tools that will be increasingly used also in the other subjects involved in this project depending always on the content.
The materials for the audiovisual content are the necessary for the design and the preparation of the final tools, session recording, reviewing and editing these ones.
For the audio content they required for the preparation of text, audio recording, reviewing and editing.
For the exercises in interactive context (called Virtual Classroom in Valencia and in some Spanish Universities): the necessary for the collaborative project design, development, implementation and evaluation of the pupils.
And the required for the hypertext multimedia content design, development and implementation.

Results:
. The adaptation and improvement of study digital materials.
. We expect that the improvement in the assimilation of concepts and skills.
. The facilitation for the online resources access.
. The facilitation of the explanation by the teacher, and additionally we expect to adapt all these tools to several kind of disabled people and also to adapt them to other languages included Valencian.

Conclusion:
The future of the study in General Pathology in Physiotherapy can improve with the new proposed multimedia tools.
