Abstract:
A Jupyter Notebook is an open source web application which allows the addition of text, video, formulas and interactive elements. This tool is mainly used by people working in software development or technology environments, to perform numerical simulations, statistical modelling, data transformation, etc. Nowadays, the Jupyter Notebooks are started to be used in academic environments, so that students can easily follow a certain mathematical process. In other words, it mitigates excessive complexity in programming and overcomes the simplistic use of software. The only use of the graphical user interfaces negates the ability to reproduce the calculation in order to critically analyse the result. In the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, this is a crucial issue. In this paper, a stock management case is analysed for a Business Management subject using a Jupyter Notebook. In addition to this, a student satisfaction survey was carried out to find out their opinion. The results show the positive reception of this tool and encourage its continued use.
