Abstract:
The cooperation of universities with industry in the field of technology transfer is mainly defined by their processes and mechanisms of cooperation. The classic university-industrial technology transfer process begins with the possession of the research results of a university scientist and ends with a licence to transfer the intellectual property rights of that result, which is transferred to the enterprise. The commitment to innovation that universities pursue through commercialization and technology transfer goes beyond the organizational and national levels and is becoming global in nature through increased international publications, cross-border patents and the mobility of human capital. The aim of the article is to examine the role of technology transfer centres in initiating and implementing the process of commercialization and knowledge transfer. The research method used was the triangulation of research techniques: literature research, in-depth interview and participant observation.
