Abstract:
The aim of the study is to clarify the causes and the consequences of stress factors in the current lifestyle. The paper is based on the evaluation of authors’ own research among university students, which was conducted throughout the years 2017–2018. Among the IT students were included fields of study Applied Informatics and Information Management, others are fields of study Tourism Management and Financial Management. The authors utilize the theoretical background of psychology of health, psychosomatic and behavioural medicine. The methodology of the research was based on the questionnaire survey designed to find out the degree of abilities to cope with stress situations. An on-line application was created which facilitates the whole process significantly. In our research we focused on the following three ways of dealing with stress factors: malcoping procedures evoking negative emotions, malcoping harmful ways of behaviour and healthy coping strategies. From the whole sample of respondents, we can conclude that healthy stress management (58.7%) prevails. In the second place are the ways of evoking negative emotions and the smallest share is shown by the ways that harm the health of monitored persons.
