Abstract:
The aim of this article is to clarify the theoretical background of the issues dealing with stress factors as well as to introduce the course and statistical evaluation of our own research. The research was going on from September 2011 to January 2017 among 1,681 students who completed 2,405 questionnaires in total. The respondents were students from the Faculty of Informatics and Management in University of Hradec Králové. Now we will deal with the last part of the research form 2016/2017 where there were 168 respondents. From these students, 85 were female and 83 were male. The average age of respondents was 21 years. The most frequently represented symptom in all study branches is the symptom ‘symptom of tiredness and lack of energy’. Its highest occurrence is among students of the Management of tourism – 51%. Other disciplines have the value of this symptom at a similar level in the range 39–42 %. The symptoms ‘memory disorders’ and ‘insomnia’ have the lowest representation in all the study branches. We can summarize that the majority of students (40%) in terms of psychosomatic symptoms by branches are included in the first stress zone, which represents very low stress. In the second place with 24% there are students belonging to the third optimal stress zone. The lowest number of respondents, only 10%, are included in the fourth stress zone in which the stress level is high. The original electronic application was created in the Czech and English version thanks to which it is possible to reach much larger sample of respondents because apart from those directly involved in the project other “anonymous” volunteers can participate in the research. All the recorded data is available immediately after it is entered and thus it can be automatically continuously evaluated.
