Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic affected society regardless of nationality, education, gender or income. It has affected almost all sectors of society and cause economic and social disruption; millions of businesses face an existential threat and the consequences of a pandemic are devastating for many. Countries around the world have been forced to take various measures to prevent the spread of a pandemic, and many have come to a close. In this context, the impact of the pandemic on education can also be seen. Educational institutions were forced to move from face-to-face to remote learning due to the rapid spread of the pandemic and the introduction of measures. Teachers had to adapt to the new situation and ensure the functioning of education through information and communication technologies. Remote learning also represented a big change for students at all levels of study. Students switched to remote learning in a short time, but this type of learning is not ideal for everyone. There are different barriers that can be expected, such as different access to the Internet, different ability to handle online communication with the teacher and remote learning or different technical and personal barriers to using online space. The aim of the paper is, on the basis of primary research, to evaluate the quality of remote learning at the universities in the Slovak Republic from the student´s point of view. The monitoring will use advanced quality management tools, the application of which will allow to precisely define the needs and requirements of the student regarding remote learning, evaluate student satisfaction with this form of education and propose a measure to improve it.
