Abstract:
Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is an umbrella term for a range of approaches and strategies that facilitate integration of theory with the practice of work, within a purposefully designed curriculum. The dual education system is a proven tool for linking theory and practice. Education is one of the main priorities of the Slovak Republic, because there is a lack of qualified employees in the labour market, for example in the postal sector. This trend can also be expected in the future. The solution is to apply the dual education system in the conditions of secondary vocational schools. The aim of the paper is to analyse the activities of the national project “Dual education and increase the attractiveness and quality of vocational education and training” as well as its practical application in the conditions of a postal operator, which is one of the largest domestic employers. The paper deals with the assessment of the benefits of implementation the dual education system from the perspective of the student as well as the particular postal operator, and the impact of its implementation on employment in the postal sector. Keywords:
