Abstract:
A comprehensive accreditation of study programs offered by Slovak universities is currently in progress in Slovakia. In this context, the study programs offered by the Faculty of Security Engineering of the University of Žilina have also undergone significant modernisation. Students will enable to get closer contact with the practice and the teachers to implement knowledge from scientific activities into teaching within the field of individual subjects. One of the research tasks that we are actively solving at the faculty is dedicated to the proposal of adaptation measures to reduce the risks arising from climate change in terms of the occurrence of crisis phenomena and weather extremes. The main goal of the project is to propose a strategy of adaptation measures in connection with the consequences of climate change aimed at building a sustainable system of risk prevention and management. The emphasis is on increasing societal resilience by strengthening the information base on climate change and developing communication approaches to climate change. At the same time, there is an interest in strengthening the economic and social security of vulnerable groups. In the presented paper, the authors analyse the possibilities of the modernised study program Crisis Management from the point of view of the implementation of project results into teaching in the subjects of the study program.
