Abstract:
In this release we present the project “Development and support of PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and young scientists in the field of virtual engineering and industrial technologies” (YoungFIT) developed in the Faculty of Industrial Technology at Technical University of Sofia with the financial support of the Operational Programme Human Resources Development, co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund.

The main objectives of the project are to increase motivation for doctoral research work and to develop the scientific potential of young scientists and PhD students in the field of virtual engineering and industrial technologies by:
• creating opportunities for the training and improving their qualification;
• promoting and supporting the academic mobility;
• helping to create contacts with experts and supporting the publicity of their achievements and results.

The involved in YoungFIT have the opportunity to participate in twelve short term educational modules in different engineering areas and to consult in their scientific works with more than thirty experts attracted to the project.

Among the main results of the project we can remark the increase of scientific publications from the PhD students and young scientists as well as the creation of several working groups from different engineering field brought together to solve a common problems.
