Abstract:
The teacher’s role is almost always emphasised while analysing the factors ensuring the quality of education. Discussing the quality of education at the macro level, the importance of teachers’ leadership is emphasised both ensuring consistent implementation of educational reforms (...) and responding to unexpected challenges such as the COVID – 19 pandemic (Hargreaves, Fullan, 2020). The actions of teachers at mezzo (school) and micro (classroom) levels are equally important too, i.e., “how teachers <…> use inputs to frame meaningful learning experiences for students. Their work represents a key factor in ensuring quality school processes“ (UNICEF, 2000, p.13).
This presentation discuses how the participants (parents, employees and teachers themselves) in the research conducted in 2021 see the role of teachers ensuring the quality of education. Following the results of three focus groups, various factors of teachers’ work at school and in the classroom are analysed, collaboration of teachers and other participants of education system pursuing common goals is also discussed.
