Abstract:
The article and presentation deal with needs analysis of University students specialising in Human Resources Management and learning English as a Foreign Language. Significant parameters of the communicative-pragmatic situations of professional activities of future Human Resources experts are considered and the main constituents of the professional language personality are studied. The article describes the survey of Master’s students, who study Human Resources Management alongside with the employment. The authors of this paper have attempted to set forth the components related to the pragmatic aspect of the communicative situation in order to identify and describe students’ foreign language learning needs for professional purposes and arrange the educational process accordingly. In order to implement this the authors have conducted a survey based on the Questionnaire created for Master’s students of Human Resources Management field. Based on the survey findings the article identifies personality traits of future specialists in the field of Human Resources Management and also examines and correlates the learning objectives, levels, context and components of their communicative activities, describes the principles of tasks and course design of the discipline "English as a Foreign Language". The article refers to particular examples in English as a Foreign Language teaching. The described rationale for curriculum and communicative activities might be considered and implemented in teaching foreign languages to students of various occupations. It integrates the global context, language material, professional concepts and development of basic communicative and professional skills. The awareness of essential constituents of the needs analysis, professional activities and communication can be used in teaching and designing curriculum for teaching English for Specific purposes.
