Abstract:
Covid-19 has had a significant impact on education. Many traditional teaching and learning formats have had to be changed as a result. This paper discusses the implementation of an academic course on Pedagogical Grammar developed during the pandemic. This ongoing study is investigating the use of e-portfolios to enhance learning efficiency in jigsaw-based learning environments. The study also examines cooperative and active learning through a jigsaw approach. The pandemic provided an opportunity to promote independent and cooperative learning among future EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teachers. In order to achieve this, a Jigsaw-based cooperative learning program was developed, along with a digital portfolio. Portfolios enable students to recognize how they are learning and growing. In this study, Wakelet was chosen as the platform for the electronic portfolio so that students could reflect on their learning process, be creative, and access their work more easily. By saving, organizing, and sharing their portfolios visually, students got engaged with the learning process. Students' e-portfolios showcased their cooperative learning jigsaw experiences and their competencies. As a result of the platform, students developed new competencies that can be applied to their teaching. Among the key outcomes of this study are students' understanding of how cooperative learning and digital portfolios can benefit their own students, as well as their willingness to apply these new skills and knowledge to their teaching practices. Through the ePortfolio, students could express themselves creatively and take ownership of their learning. Pedagogical Grammar lessons with jigsaw were perceived by students as more collaborative and student-centered. Working with others, getting help, sharing information, and teaching others were all enjoyable aspects of Jigsaw. With Jigsaw, students participate equally both inside and outside the classroom and become more involved in one another's learning. It is possible to extend the benefits of this program beyond the pandemic.
