Abstract:
EU policy on higher education aims to support reforms of higher education systems in the Member States in order to achieve greater consistency and to meet better the needs of the knowledge society. Higher education institutions are involved in the knowledge triangle - education, research and innovation. The program of higher education is a high priority given to promoting the mobility. The original Erasmus started its work in 1987, and up to now the program gave the opportunity to more than 9 million people. Today's Erasmus+ program provides grants for a wide range of actions and activities. The contribution deals with activities in the field of education under the ERASMUS + program at University of Žilina. For over sixty years, the university has been one of the leading educational and scientific institutions in Slovakia. Its rich tradition occupies a significant place among Slovak universities not only by the number of students, but also by offering interesting and quality study programs, but also by a significant research and foreign activity. The basic strategic objective of University of Žilina is its formation as a modern educational and scientific institution and its further development based on the traditions and the creative understanding of the scientific, educational, cultural and humanizing mission. In the contribution, we will point out the development of the quality and quantity of mobility for outgoing and incoming students. The article deals with a survey among incoming students - their views on education at a foreign university, program and overall framework.
