Abstract:
E-learning education systems as a part of academic information systems at universities in the Slovak Republic undergo positive development as a result of the strengthening of Internet infrastructure and the implementation of information and communication technology facilities. In the digital age, the use of ICT is key in a modern economy. Innovative methods in education as well as the increasing interest of students to work on electronic devices deepens the importance and raises the necessity of e-learning form of education as a more effective form of education compared to traditional methods in order to increase the quality of educational process. The contribution is devoted to the use of e-learning as a supportive form of education at high schools, for example the University of Žilina. The paper presents results of research focused on the level of use of the academic information system by students of the University of Žilina. It describes the environment of e-learning at the university and e-learning systems, their advantages and disadvantages, individual systems such as, LMS and UniApps applications as part of the academic information system and also analyzes students' satisfaction with individual aspects of e-learning. The paper presents the results of primary research among students of the bachelor and master study at the University of Žilina. The survey was carried out through the questionnaire in electronic and written form. The research was oriented on the use of e-learning and satisfaction of students and comparison of the use of e-learning systems of education by students at selected high schools. At the same time, the possibilities of improving the quality of education on the basis of the satisfaction survey and the requirements of the students are evaluated. The contribution includes a proposal to improve the education of students through e-learning.
