Abstract:
In most European countries, but also generally in all civilized countries of the world, informatics has become or is gradually becoming part of state educational programs as a compulsory subject already at the first level of primary schools. Due to the fact that, university teacher study programs in a combination of two subjects were oriented to grades 6-12 of compulsory schooling, there was a lack of qualified informatics teachers at the first level of elementary school. Universities preparing teachers for the first grade of elementary schools reacted to this change in different ways. Changes in study programs by introducing new subjects and strengthened knowledge and skills in informatics and deepened them in the area of using modern digital educational technologies. The article presents the results of the self-reflection of primary school teachers on the evaluation of their knowledge and skills in the field of using educational technologies and modern digital tools in teaching. In the questionnaire, respondents also expressed their opinion about the equipment of schools and the readiness of primary school teachers to teach the subject of informatics. The survey was conducted using the questionnaire method and the completed questionnaires were evaluated using the method of descriptive statistics. Teachers from the Czech and Slovak Republics participated in the survey. The article also contains proposals for solving the current problems of education in the field of informatics and the use of modern educational technologies and for increasing the qualifications of teachers in the given field.
