FROM FACE-TO-FACE TO REMOTE LEARNING AT SLOVAK UNIVERSITIES

Abstract:
In this year, Trnava University in Trnava (Slovakia) engaged in extensive global research aimed at mapping the situation at universities during a pandemic. The questionnaire survey involved 26 countries from four continents, 36 university teachers from 29 universities and educational institutions. 7.2% of respondents were from the Slovak Republic.
An extensive database has been set up with information on the technological, economic, psychological aspects of the challenges and consequences of the pandemic. Students were asked not only to characterize and evaluate the situation caused by the pandemic, but they were also given the opportunity to offer their ideas and suggestions for improving teaching and learning. The Slovak Student University Council has developed extensive material to assist (university) teachers in introducing and implementing online education. The material contains a brief overview of technological possibilities and also a description of specific software tools and environments suitable for the implementation of distance learning.
The article reports on the results of a survey at Slovak universities. It analyzes the obtained results and compares them with global results. It also lists some specifics and specific solutions to improve the results of the educational process. It also describes some technological possibilities that enable the implementation of quality education in the distance form.Keywords:
