Abstract:
The article deals with the issue of plagiarism in writing final theses. It analyzes the protocol from the system of control of originality, which is used in the Slovak Republic to control the originality of bachelor's, master's, engineering and various qualification theses. It gives specific examples of errors and shortcomings in the control system itself. Identifies, characterizes and categorizes the basic types of shortcomings in citation, in compiling the information sources used, in determining the starting point of research, in defining the meaning of basic key terms, which are frequently operated in the work. Consideration is also given to how the assignment itself can inspire the active work of the author and the active application of existing theoretical results and research results in a new field, or in new conditions. The assignment should contain clear requirements for the results of the work. The work should not lack an explicit expression of the benefits of work. Research works (such as dissertations) should not lack working hypotheses, a description of the research methods used and a critical evaluation of research results and their correct interpretation.
