Abstract:
With the aim of promoting a better qualification of the development of high level educators and the production of knowledge in the area of economic, human and social development through Higher Education, the Joint Research program CAPES/UTEXAS has been in development for two years, in which the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil and the College of Education/UT at Austin participate. The object of the project is quality in higher education. In this time period, an evaluation can be made of its objectives, which are: 1 – To promote the exchange of graduate students, professors and researchers, with an emphasis on the development of human resources; 2 – To develop the exchange of scientific information, via e-learning, and specialized documentation; 3 – To stimulate discussion and exchange of experiences beyond the integration of graduate teaching and research in the centers involved; 4 – Consolidation of the research centers and networks involved. Among the evaluations carried out, the importance that the project presents in the consolidation of methodologies and on-site and distance teaching networks for innovation in the development of professors in higher education stands out.
