Abstract:
The concept of alternative musical instruments in this article includes a variety of sound sources that have a specific timbre, shape and application possibilities. They are attractive, they also can be applied both in concert practice and in music pedagogy.
This article describes installations created from a variety of materials, including: glass, plastic, wood and water.
Each of the materials has specific and diverse acoustic qualities, consistent with the formation of timbre sense in children and students.
The presented installations mainly produce rhythm, and some of them are melodic.
An example of this is the installation of PVC pipes, which reproduces tones with a definite pitch and can be included both with its accompanying function and as a solo instrument.
The article describes an installation of glass bottles, tuned in pitch according to the diatonic scale.
The installation "Musical Bridge" is inspired by a specific piece of music. The construction represents the idea of the variety of materials, sonority and colors. Several materials are combined, such as wood, metal, plastic, etc..
Water percussion installation: water as a percussion instrument offers an innovative approach in training. As a musical instrument, water percussion can be used alone, as a rhythmic accompaniment, part of a sound picture or a musical game. Through well structured tasks, water percussions can be used successfully through the sensory message they have, as well as direct associations related to water.
The article describes methods and approaches for specific application of the considered installations in pedagogical practice. The approbation of the installations is realized in real educational sessions. Keywords:
