INNOVATION OF EDUCATION FOR TRANSFER PASSIVE LEARNING TO PURPOSEFUL TEACHING OF INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERS

Abstract:
In the university environment, can be increasingly observed declining students´ motivation and academic performance, in STEM (science, technical, engineering and mathematics) universities facing an increased lack of interest in these fields. Among the identified causes, is included, on the one hand, the perception of STEM subjects as uninteresting and difficult to understand. And on the other hand, another cause is the traditional, low-stimulus form of teaching based on passive reception of information. The need to introduce innovation into the teaching of STEM subjects is important, not only for making student learning more attractive, but also for improving knowledge transfer and its conversion into practical application. The main objective of this paper is to present the results of the implementation of a set of innovative measures aimed at improving knowledge transfer in the education of students of the industrial engineering programme. The implemented measures included the rationalization of classrooms equipment and the modernization of teaching methods through interactive multimedia, digitalization of teaching content and the introduction of personalized teaching elements. The effectiveness of these innovations was verified by comparative analysis. The findings confirm the positive impact of the new teaching strategies on students' learning performance and engagement. The paper also offers a practical model for the use of digital technologies in the educational process, which can serve as an inspiration for other universities and higher education institutions.
