Abstract:
The basic assumption of the freight forwarding and transport companies is focused on transport within the defined area, combining the points exchange of goods. Implementation of freight transport is based on the assumption of minimizing time and costs. In the opinion of forwarding and transport companies the green (ecological) criterion is marginalized, and worse overlooked in the planning of used modes of transport and route its course.

Proper education in this issue and changing attitudes of forwarding and transport companies towards environmentally friendly solutions to reduce harmful emissions, and noise are required. Changing the transport infrastructure and the transport means for environment-friendly solutions are the correct and directional accordance with the directives of the European Commission, but require enormous financial outlays, often unrealistic in the short time scales.

Planning and organization of freight transport based on reducing the negative impact on the environment is an important element of the proper development of freight transport. Despite the shortcomings huge financial outlays for the transport network it is possible to reduce the negative impact of transport on the environment is through adequate education of a specific group of freighter. A small change in the implementation of transport may have a positive impact on the environment without generating increase in transport costs (or increasing them slightly). This requires only a proper education and a broader understanding of the problem of planning, organizing and carrying freight.

The article presents the concept of tool for planning freight transport as a key element to education towards environmentally friendly behavior in planning, organization and realization of freight transport. In addition to the basic functions of fleet management tool, it will be aimed at promoting ecological solutions, such as unconventional powered cars - electric cars etc. The proposed optimization algorithms implemented in the tool allow routing not only for the criterion of time and cost, but also, and perhaps above all, for the criterion on the limitation of emissions of harmful factors, including noise. The proposed solution gives rise to cognition environmentally friendly behavior in the freight and conviction to their application, which could help to change in the planning, organization and realization of freight transport in direction to more environmental friendly solutions.
