Abstract:
In the current fast-changing times in which data became easily available due to mass media, an individual is facing a new challenge - to gather, process and interpret the findings to relevant information. As the school should be a place where students are prepared for life in contemporary society and to succeed in the labor market, school should be developing key competencies necessary for success of students. Project-based learning is a method that develops pupils' independence, creativity, ability to find and process information, which is then applied to real situations. Project-based learning is a detour from the classic course of the lesson where the teacher stands in front of a blackboard, explaining to students the new curriculum and dictate their notes. It gives prominence to the pupil rather than the teacher. Well planned project can arouse interest in pupils not only the curriculum but also the acquisition of knowledge as such. This method is not universally applicable, not suitable to every curriculum and time-consuming to prepare and implement. The aim of our paper is to identify the characteristics of project-based learning and propose its application in specific subject.

We think that it is precisely the method that is an effective way to engage students in learning, encourage them to concentrate on the theme and support their autonomy, creativity, presentation skills and responsibility towards their own work. Result of this paper is a draft of project named ''Mix your own 4P." It is applicable on curriculum of marketing mix. Project is eligible for students of third and fourth grade on the high school. Time requirement is ten lessons. Pupils, based on the choice of an already existing company, will identify the marketing mix of the company. Gradually, they will have to go through the product, price, distribution, and communication topics to which they will apply the situation in the selected business and engage their creativity as they will also invent a new product type for that company, and then its cost, distribution and sales communication. For each element they will need 2 lessons. One lesson will be devoted to theory and second to the practical application. We were able to create this draft by studying of all aspects of project-based learning as part of pedagogic study of teaching economic subjects at high school. We especially examined principals of project based learning, goals and pros and cons of this method. The main author has a master degree in marketing and practical skills in high school teaching, so project is created based on hers skills.
