About this paper:
Conference name: 9th annual International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation
Dates: 14-16 November, 2016
Location: Seville, Spain
Abstract:
Supporting novice researchers to find their way in the international project environment is not only important for their own career but also to maintain and increase national capacities for research. In addition, it is also fully in agreement with EU policies. EU policies consider novice scientists and the quality of their internationally overlapping research activities to be a condition for the excellence of European research in the future. During the previous EU programming periods, many research centers of excellence and regional research centers funded by the EU Structural Funds were established in the Czech Republic. These centers offer a wide range of employment for young scientists as well. However, what is vital for the financial sustainability of the centers is, among other things, the success rate in obtaining projects.
Therefore, the Regional contact organization South Bohemia – the contact for research space whose mission is to promote the involvement of scientific research entities in the international cooperation programmes, recently focuses on novice scientists as well – i.e. postgraduate students and postdocs - and prepares them for specific training and education activities.
