Abstract:
The topicality of the development of educators' digital competence shall not decrease as long as digital technologies continue advancement in educational contexts. Thus educators' digital competence development planning is also a crucial part of professional development regardless of civilian or militarized education contexts. Administration and educators should constantly plan to expand and deepen their professional knowledge and increase their professional capabilities in practical application of digital tools and resources. Development of educators’ awareness in using the possibilities and potential of e-learning systems for border guards training in Latvia is of a very high importance.

The article considers the aspects of teacher digital competence development in military training environment. The authors conduct the inquiry on formation of educators’ attitudes and understanding of e-learning solutions. The research carried out encompasses the current teacher digital competence development situation in Border Guards' training institutions in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland a review of educators attitude and needs to digital competence development as well as future development possibilities in this matter. The article summarizes theoretical background on educators digital competence development includes practical steps to enhance educators’ digital competence in order to further develop border guards' training systems via using and harnessing e-learning potential.
