Abstract:
The new challenges that higher education institutions face today, especially the imperative of their internationalization, prove the effort that has been made in creating international partnerships that promote the exchange of resources, experiences, skills and academic training. The Eunice consortium – European University of Personalized Education, to which the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu belongs, is a good example of this dynamism, sharing resources and promoting, in a cooperative way, training provision, student mobility and scientific research. In this reflection, we use is the Eunice report (2024) on key competences to fourteen companies in the region to revisit, in a longitudinal perspective, the data collected over the last two decade at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu. The main concern of these investigations (2011; 2021) was to analyze the transition processes of young graduates to work and the relationship between the higher education obtained and the work performed, allowing verify the applicability of skills in a work context and the conditions and characteristics of the work performed. The objective is to reevaluate these results by comparing them with the current needs highlighted by the local job market, considering how these changes reflect or not the transformation of the skills of young graduates. At the same time, it is intended to contribute to an active institutional reflection on these changes and allow for constant adaptation of the training offer to these new indicators and needs. Keywords:
