USING THE FLIPPED CLASSROOM METHODOLOGY FOR IMPROVE THE LEARNING OF MOODLE TOOLS

The purpose of this review is to present the results of an innovative experience in the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). This involved future Teachers/Engineers in the subject of “Complements to disciplinary training in technologies” during the 2014-2015 academic year at the University of La Rioja (Spain).

Nowadays, there is a demand for the development of new skills that are related to ICT for future teachers/engineers. For that reason, it is necessary to improve the methodological aspects of university teaching, including task-based activities and educational renewal.

This paper discusses a defined and applied methodology for developing in “Complements to disciplinary training in technologies,” which is introduced in an Innovation project. Students design resources with different Moodle Tools and take part in a Flipped Classroom experience in which, technology plays an important role, particularly teacher developed videos or videos that have been created by others. Using Moodle tools enables “teachers” to free up time from lecturing so that they can focus on guiding students, while they learn by interaction and collaboration in the classroom.
