Abstract:
The current situation affected by the pandemic associated with COVID-19 disease has a significant impact on all areas of human life. One of the most affected areas is also the area of education, within which the educational process had to be significantly transformed. As a result of the pandemic, most educational institutions were closed, thus transforming the attendance form of study into the distance form. In some respects, this transformation of the education process can also be considered one of the biggest reforms in education. However, neither the educational system nor its actors were sufficiently prepared for such a radical change in the educational process. The transition of students and teachers from school desks to computer monitors in their homes has brought with it a boom in new threats occurring in cyberspace. For this reason, in the current situation, it is necessary to address the issue of internet security of students, but also teachers, either in the educational process of distance education or in the form of specialized webinars. The paper deals with the internet security of children and youth and the prevention of crime and other anti-social activities occurring in cyberspace. The aim of the paper is to identify the most common security threats occurring in cyberspace, to assess the awareness of children and young people about these threats and to propose preventive measures to minimize the risks arising from these threats.
