Abstract:
The process of globalization brings a retreat of local traditions but also a reduction of regional differences. One of the signs of globalization is the free movement of goods and people, which have a number of positive aspects, especially in the economic sphere. On the other hand, free movement of persons can lead to a deterioration in the security situation and to the creation of new threats. An objective indicator of a security situation in a particular security environment is criminality. Criminality can be studied through the science discipline - criminology, which also includes crime prevention. Effective methods and forms of crime prevention can reduce crimes in specific population groups. The paper deals with the teaching of foreigners in the field of crime prevention. The aim of the paper is to analyze the security situation in Slovakia from the point of view of criminality committed by foreigners and subsequently to propose new approaches to the teaching of foreigners in the field of crime prevention. Conclusions of paper can be implemented in strategic documents of Slovakia dealing with crime prevention and education of foreigners.
