Abstract:
Information security in the Slovak Republic is basically divided into two areas - classified information protection and unclassified information protection. Classified information protection is under supervision of National Security Office, unclassified information protection is under supervision of the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic.

The Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic carries out the series of training courses for public employees in relation to the informatization process in the Slovak Republic. The goal of the training courses is to contribute to raising the awareness and to the competence in the field of information security and thus positively influence the security environment in the Slovak Republic. The paper deals with the analysis of the education system in the field of information security in public administration in the Slovak Republic. The principal aim of the paper is to obtain up to date information on the state of information security in selected segments for the purpose of improving education system in information security, while following the survey on the state of information security in public administration.
